Hewlett Package will launch their own linux desktop preloaded with Linux and other opensource softwares such as IM, web browsers, software applications and Open Office, an alternative open source software for Windows Office.HP announced their launch week after IBM launched their Linux-desktop package. HP's offering to preload Novell's SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop on the HP Compaq dc5850 along with other open source applications.
HP Linux Desktop targets the education market and with regard to it the company is developing educational applications for teachers and students.
HP will start selling the Linux Desktops in United States on December 15 with starting price of $519.
